Amsterdam – Inversco BV, a prominent manufacturer and distributor of fresh food products and convenience products in the Netherlands, today announced the acquisition of Koelvers Groep and Medirest Amsterdam which were formerly part of Compass Group.
Koelvers Groep and Medirest Amsterdam are active in the manufacturing of convenience food products like pre-cooked and ready-made meals supplying the institutional market in the Netherlands. The acquisition will further strengthen Inversco’s leading position supplying convenience products to caterers, hospitality outlets and institutional clients. Johan in ‘t Veld, CEO of Inversco: “The acquisition is of strategic importance as this enables Inversco to better serve the foodservice segment, offering a complete package of food products ranging from fresh food, frozen food, dry groceries, pre-cooked meals and meal components.” Compass Group which considered the activities of the two companies no longer as core business will remain a strategic partner going forward.
Inversco was acquired by Gilde Buy-Out Fund in the beginning of 2005. Gilde is located in Utrecht, Paris and Zurich and is a leading private equity player in continental Europe.
