TenCate Advanced Composites (“TCAC”) is a leading global producer of advanced thermoplastic (TP) and thermoset (TS) composites. TCAC supplies TP composites to commercial aviation programs including Airbus and Boeing who are increasingly replacing traditional materials with TP as a means of reducing costs and enabling higher build rates on current and next-generation programs. In addition, TCAC has leading positions in high-value, attractive niche TS markets including Space & Communications and Industrial end-markets (specialty automotive). The Company employs over 700 FTE globally and operates manufacturing facilities in North America (3 incl. HQ), Europe (2), and Asia (1). TenCate Advanced Composites was sold to Toray in July 2018.
Driving and accelerating the momentum towards the inflection point where thermoplastic composites were adopted for mass industrial purpose in aerospace applications. Over the investment period TCAC realized several key thermoplastic composite specification wins for upcoming qualifications, with scope for long-term transformational growth in commercial aviation (with both Boeing and Airbus next-generation platforms).
